KGOU NIGHT AT THE SOUNDBAR: ON THE SCENE WITH BRETT FIELDCAMP
KGOU Radio’s ON THE SCENE takes a weekly glimpse behind the curtains of Oklahoma’s arts, culture, and entertainment worlds, featuring established and up and coming creative artists and entrepreneurs who lift our spirits and inspire us. Host Brett Fieldcamp joins us (as he often does) for this month’s KGOU FIRST WEDNESDAYS’ meet and greet with KGOU staff and programmers and will bring a number of his more than 25 radio guests along for conversation about their lives and work in OKC (interspersed with listens to several series’ segments, music from some of the featured artists, and more).

DANCE, DANCE, DANCE
Sound Bar Dance Night is a unique arts integrating evening of music and dance – recognizing some of the most influential members of the Oklahoma City dance community. Brought to life by hosts Hui Cha Poos & Natasha Abu Fadel. Each month our hosts will invite folks from different dance backgrounds to share their stories about dance and music in their lives, take a deep look at how and why certain music is chosen by and informs the work of our guests, and some “Dance Games” designed to engage everyone in the room (so inclined). This series will launch on Thursday March 6th with our first guests – Kaleidoscope Dance Company (from UCO) who will be traveling this summer to Germany and Switzerland to represent Oklahoma and dance internationally. Join us as we kick off this series and help us expand our SoundBar community!! If you are breathing, you are dancing. Come Breathe/Dance with us!

Don’t know about you, but Radio is still a vital part of our musical lives at the SoundBar (Viva NPR!). Tonight we pay tribute to the RADIO, with bands Radiohead/Thom Yorke and TV on the Radio, Albums titled “Radio” by LL Cool J, Robert Glasper (Black Radio Vs 1, 2 and 3) and Ky Mani Marley, and tracks like Radio Radio, Mexican Radio, Border Radio, Video Killed the Radio Star and more.
