We’ve become big fans of the ALT.LATINO Podcast, streaming from NPR and reprised on KGOU Saturdays at Midnight (we try to listen on our way home from the bar). Tonight, we’ll mine their recent playlists for both up-and-comers and classic recordings from the world of Latin Music. You don’t have to speak Spanish to understand why this is some of the most heartfelt and compelling new music in the universe!

LOVE’S LABOURS LOST
Labor Day is Monday. So, to celebrate that theme, tonight we feature bands and albums tied to labor and work. Bands like Men at Work, a nod to the trades (The Smiths, The Steeldrivers, Anita “Baker”, Sam “Cooke”, the Carpenters, The Police, Red House Painters, Drive By Truckers, Mike & the Mechanics and Alison Krauss’ “Union” Station) and “work” entitled albums like Workingman’s Dead (Grateful Dead), Labour of Love (UB40) and many more. As the Beatles sang, “We Can Work It Out”. Come join us to honor this holiday with music!
